Beginning in the womb and continuing forever forward, the beat bonds us. Courtnee Roze- bandleader, producer, musical composer,  lyricist, writer, and percussionist - honors rhythm's place at the heart of the human experience and employs the drum as a life force. She transforms the elemental instrument in thoroughly modern ways: playing with meter and layering monologue, dance, vocals and African sonic landscapes.

Roze's music is a mixture of African rhythmic textures, soul, lyrics, pop, house, drum & bass and some elements of jazz. Free from the constraints of genre, Roze and her percussion-driven collective are creating a culture of their own,  A djembe and conga virtuoso, Roze has been a student of music since she was seven years old.
